Strong backing but i rather ceramic belts

I purchased the zirconia Alum belt because i got some cupons and discounts. Sadly the belt lost tons of material while working shaping forged hammers. The backig appears to be good. No damage or changes... but the front went quicky from 60 grit to 800 super soft
